A person was rushed to hospital in a serious condition while another was taken into police custody after an alleged assault in Napier this afternoon.
An assault was reported to have happened on Wordsworth Crescent in the suburb of Maraenui shortly after 2:45pm.
Emergency services, including an ambulance and rapid response unit, were deployed.
A police spokesperson said one person was taken into custody.
Hato Hone St John said crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before they were transported to Hawke's Bay Hospital in a serious condition.
