Five people have been arrested after an alleged burglary in Tauranga last night.
Police were called to a service station on State Highway 2 in Bethlehem at about 9.45pm after a group, who police said arrived in two vehicles, allegedly smashed the night service window.
"They then entered the store and set off a fog cannon, before stealing a small amount of cash."
Five alleged offenders with one vehicle were then caught by police "a short distance from the scene".
Four members of the group, who are aged between 13 and 16, were referred to Youth Aid while the remaining person — a 23-year-old man — was charged with burglary and is expected to be appear in Tauranga District Court.
Police continued to search for the second vehicle.
