One dead after single-vehicle crash in Waikato

One person has died following a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 3 in Waikato last night.

Police said officers responded to the crash near Mahoenui around 6pm on Thursday.

"One person was located deceased at the scene," a spokesperson said.

"The serious crash unit conducted a scene examination and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing."

The road reopened around 12.30am this morning.
