Two more Black Caps have turned down central contract offers with Devon Conway and Finn Allen wanting to play franchise cricket overseas.
Conway has accepted a casual contract offer from New Zealand Cricket (NZC) so that he is able to play in the South African T20 competition in January, right in the middle of New Zealand's home cricket season.
He won't be available for six white ball matches against Sri Lanka.
“The decision to move away from a central playing contract isn’t one I’ve taken lightly, but I believe it is the best for me and my family at this present time," said Conway.
However, Allen has not been offered a casual contact by NZC. He still remains available for selection in the Black Caps, with contracted players taking priority over those who aren't signed with NZC.
NZC CEO Scott Weenink said that casual playing contracts are only offered on a 'discretionary basis'.
Earlier this year Kane Williamson turned down a central contract to also feature in the T20 cricket competition in South Africa, meaning he had to relinquish his captaincy.
