A road is blocked after four people were injured in a two-car crash near Matamata this afternoon.
Police say emergency services were called to the crash on Waharoa Rd East, near the intersection with Pohlen Rd, around 1.40pm.
One person has been airlifted to Waikato Hospital in a serious condition, a Hato Hone St John spokesperson told 1News.
Two others – one in a serious condition and another in moderate condition – have been taken to Waikato Hospital via ambulance.
A fourth person was taken to the Matamata Medical Centre in a moderate condition.

The road is blocked and motorists have been asked to avoid the area.
