Your morning Olympics catch-up on the action you might've missed from overnight, and a look behind the scenes at what’s going on in Paris.
Carrington's GOAT status levels up
It was supposed to be a Dame Lisa Carrington vs Aimee Fisher clash for the ages.
Ultimately, a tearful Fisher was left to rue what could’ve been, while Carrington reigned supreme in the K1 500 – again.
This was her EIGHTH Olympic gold medal, and ninth overall.
It was also her third gold medal in as many days.
After the race she admitted “it’s pretty enticing to continue” – although it wasn’t clear whether that was slightly tongue-in-cheek.
What is certain is she’s looking forward to heading home next week to see her dog Colin.
Hall of Fame's Ko completes hat-trick
Tears streamed down Lydia Ko’s face after receiving her gold medal on the podium.
The emotion washing over New Zealand’s golfing star, who now has Olympic gold, silver, and bronze medals.
She’ll also enter the LPGA’s Hall of Fame following the tense two-shot victory at Le Golf National.
Expect Ko to get a celebratory tattoo, as she revealed to Olympics reporter Henry McMullen this week.
'Raygun' promises to keep on firing
Australia’s breakdancer Rachael Gunn – AKA ‘Raygun’ – has vowed to keep being herself, after copping flak online.
The 36-year-old lecturer at Macquarie University (where she researches breaking culture) performed a head-turning routine.
“Creativity is really important to me, I go out there and I show my artistry,” she said.
Despite failing to receive a point from the judges, she certainly found a way to capture the attention of Olympic viewers.
