Track cyclist Ellesse Andrews seems well placed to add one last flourish to New Zealand's golden Olympics at Paris.
On the final day of competition, the speedster — already a champion in the keirin and silver medallist in the team sprint — has an opportunity to add another medal, perhaps gold, in the individual sprint event at Saint Quentin en Yvelines Velodrome.
Andrews, 24, will contest the best-of-three semifinal series against British world champion Emma Finucane, who propelled her nation to victory over the Kiwis in that team sprint final.
She was also second-fastest — ahead of Andrews — in the super-fast qualifying rounds that saw four riders dip under the previous world record.
Victory there would put the Kiwi in a final against either new world recordholer Lea Freidrich of Germany or Dutchwoman Hetty van de Wouw. Defeat would see her racing for bronze, which she won at last year's world championships.
Teammates Sam Dakin and Ally Wollaston will also compete at the velodrome, with Wollaston an outside chance in the women's multievent omnium.
Around the streets of Paris, Camille French takes on the women's marathon, boasting a personal best time of 2h 26m 08s, which would rank her 72nd in the field.
The Paris Olympics will formally wind up with the closing ceremony at Stade de France on Monday morning (NZ time).
