New Zealand's medal wait is over
New Zealand, rejoice! Aotearoa has its first medal of the Games this morning.
And it's gold for the Black Ferns Sevens after a comeback 19-12 win over Canada.
Co-captain Sarah Hirini said after the match: “To be honest I'm bloody sore, my face hurts, but I'm so happy."
The final win came after yet another dominant performance in the semi - Stacey Waaka and Michaela Blyde starred again in the 24-12 win against USA.
Canada had beaten Australia 21-12 in their semi-final.
Organisers to tri-again today
Olympic organisers are defending their handling of the triathlon in Paris, confident the water quality will improve to safe levels for the postponed race today.
It comes after a shambolic day in in the French capital, where Guy Heveldt asked organisers about their embarrassment over the postponement amid continuous assurances it would be safe.

They conducted tests throughout the course, with three areas returning positive results above the safety threshold, one considerably so.
Former Olympic triathlete Marten van Riel having a crack at the farce, posting on social media that “we are just puppets in the puppet show.”
“Changing the day like that in the middle of the night is disrespectful to the years of preparation of the athletes and to all (y)our fans that were going to watch live or on tv.”
1News has also spoken to Hayden Wilde's family who are rearranging travel plans so they can see the race.
Although there's growing doubt over whether that will even go ahead, with thunderstorms expected today.
Photo of the Games?
Maybe you can take a perfect photo without using AI or Photoshop.
This shot by Agence France-Presse photographer Jérôme Brouillet of surfer Gabriel Medina was possible thanks to “perfect” conditions.
The Brazilian’s celebratory stance, along with a near-horizontal surfboard cord, made for an unusual and deceptive picture.
His score was 9.90 on Day 3 of surfing in Tahiti.
Brouillet’s shot was a 10/10.
