Your morning Olympics catch-up on the action you might've missed from overnight, and a look behind the scenes at what’s going on in Paris.
Maxwell arrives on world stage
Sammie Maxwell's announced herself on the Olympic stage in admirable fashion - coming 8th out of 36 women in a stacked mountain biking field.
Earlier this year she told Breakfast it would be a dream to land a top-10 finish in her maiden Games campaign.
The current under-23 world champion hustled her way into the lead bunch early, hanging on to finish with a time of 1:30:43 - four minutes off gold.
It's a big win for Maxwell, who fought hard to be here – as far as taking legal action against Cycling NZ after initial non-selection for non-performance related reasons.
Watch Breakfast this morning for Jordan Oppert’s interview with Maxwell.
Rowers on the charge
They flew under the radar comparative to previous Olympics, but they won't be going unnoticed anymore.
Olympics reporter Guy Heveldt said New Zealand's rowers have had a superb spell overnight on the water in sunny Paris.
"Granted, it's only heats, but the men's four and women's lightweight double both won theirs - the men in commanding fashion over one of the favourites in Great Britain."
The men's quartet advanced straight to the final, with the women into the semi-finals.
Heveldt reported the women's four also impressed with a second placing in their heat, behind the Brits, to surge into the semi-finals.
The men's pair needed a photo finish to be declared second in their heat and book a semi-final spot, but the women's pair have been forced through the repechage stages.

Snoop Dogg on tour
Rapper Snoop Dogg’s been getting around the Games.
His appearance at yesterday’s swimming – where Erika Fairweather finished fourth – was followed by a visit to watch gymnastics great Simone Biles overnight.
Michelle Prendiville snapped Snoop – and after some gentle coaxing, finally got the NBC special correspondent to duly oblige and provide a wave.
