Police seeking public's help locating man on the run

Police are seeking the public's help locating a man with distinctive tattoos wanted to arrest in the wider Auckland area.

Edward Hayes, 37, has a warrant to arrest for breaching his release conditions.

"We believe Hayes is somewhere in the wider Auckland area, or in the Bay of Plenty, and is actively avoiding police," police said today on social media.

"If you see Hayes do not approach him, and please call 111 immediately."

Anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 105.
