Three people have been injured following a multi-vehicle crash near Pukaki in Canterbury this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway 8 Mount Cook Rd, near Tekapo-Twizel Rd, just before 10.30am, police said.
Two people have been seriously injured, while a third person sustained moderate injuries.
State Highway 8 was closed north of the SH80/SH8 intersection but has since reopened, Waka Kotahi said.
"We would like to thank road users in the area for their extended patience today."

It comes after 15 people were injured in two separate bus crashes on SH8 on Thursday.
