A car has crashed into a building in Auckland early this morning, with both catching fire.
Fire and Emergency NZ told 1News they were called to the incident at 5.20am, after the car crashed into the building on Esplanade Rd in Mt Eden. A fire in the car spread to the building.
"Eight crews attended at the height of the fire."
There have been no reports of injuries in the Mt Eden incident. (Source: 1News)
FENZ said there was one crew still at the scene at about 7am.
No persons were reported to be injured. Hato Hone St John said it was notified of the incident at 5.20am, dispatching two ambulances and two rapid response vehicle but these were stood down enroute as not being required.
Police said officers helped evacuate people from the building.
"An investigation is now underway to determine exactly what has occurred, including who was involved."
