More than 300 homes are without power in central Otago after a bus collided with powerlines near Alexandra this morning.
Police said they responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on the Chatto Creek-Springvale Rd (State Highway 85) at around 9.40am on Tuesday.
"One person is being assessed for minor injuries," a spokesperson said.
"Diversions are being put in place."
Lines company Aurora Energy is reporting power outages for 310 customers across the Chatto Creek, Galloway, Letts Gully, Springvale, and Waikerikeri areas.
Alexandra is currently the coldest place in the country, reaching a low of -0.4°C according to MetService.
NZTA have issued road ice warnings for the area.
"Due to black ice in the area, road users are advised to take extra care," a spokesperson said.
