Auckland man sought for 'animal cruelty' among other charges

Police are seeking the public's help locating a "dangerous" man with multiple warrants for arrest.

Steven Tainui is wanted on "assault- and firearms-related matters as well as another matter involving animal cruelty", police said.

Police believed Tainui was somewhere in the wider Auckland area.

He was considered dangerous and should not be approached, police said.

Police advised any sightings of Tainui should be reported by phoning 111.
