1 Green MP Darleen Tana asked to resign over worker mistreatment reports

The Green Party has asked its MP Darleen Tana to leave Parliament, with co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick saying her conduct has "fallen far short" of the party's values.

Tana's husband is alleged to have exploited migrants at his business, with the Green Party instigating an independent investigation into what the MP knew and when. This report was received on Friday and subsequently reviewed and discussed by caucus.

The List MP has resigned from the Green Party.

2 Swab left in woman's vagina two weeks after surgery

A few days after surgery, a woman noticed a "malodorous vaginal discharge" and suffered lower abdominal pain, hot flushes, and had a reduced appetite.

During a gynaecological examination — 17 days post-surgery and having experienced symptoms for a week — a doctor found and removed a surgical swab that had been left in her vagina.

3 Arrest made after alleged 'hate-motivated' assault of Chinese teen on Auckland bus

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested after a 16-year-old received serious facial injuries in an "unprovoked" assault on a bus in Auckland's Pakuranga last month.

The boy allegedly had three teeth knocked out in the incident on board a bus travelling from Howick to Auckland CBD.

Detective Senior Sergeant James Mapp said police will allege the crime was "hate-motivated".

4 Porirua teacher censured after 'inappropriate' touching exposed on TikTok

Multiple children, aged between 9 and 13, alleged Jeremy Jarman had made them feel “uncomfortable” by inappropriately touching them.

His conduct was exposed when a student posted a video to TikTok, claiming Jarmane had "been touching girls in his class".

The Teachers Disciplinary Tribunal has called his actions a “misguided” attempt at taking a “fatherly approach” to teaching.

5 'Unbelievable': Kiwi Lulu Sun on historic Wimbledon run

Lulu Sun spoke to 1News about her victory over hometown favourite Emma Raducanu on the famous Centre Court this morning. The 23-year-old is the first New Zealand woman to make it into the top 8 at Wimbledon.

"I honestly didn’t expect to cry,” Sun said. "When you put in so much work and finally get that little stepping stone – I think that’s where the emotions rushed in from."

She now goes through to the quarter finals where she will play Croatia's Donna Vekic on Wednesday.

TJ Perenara’s knee injury rules him out of the second Test against England, with Noah Hotham joining what is an increasingly inexperienced halfback line-up.

The 32-year-old received the injury late in the first half of the All Blacks' 16-15 victory over England in Dunedin when part of a breakdown collapsed on his left knee, hyperextending it.
