A body has been found in the search for a man reported missing from a walking track near Carterton since Wednesday.
Ben Fox, also known as Sam, was last seen at his home in Masterton on Wednesday morning.
The 56-year-old's vehicle was later found on Mangatarere Valley Rd near the Mangatarere Valley walking track.
"Police can advise the body of a man has been found in the Mangatere Valley area, believed to be the man reported missing in the area earlier in the week," police said this afternoon.
"We would like to acknowledge the efforts of the volunteers and LandSAR who contributed the search.
"Our thanks also go to a number of our community who gave their time to assist."
Police are continuing to support Fox's family.
The death has been referred to the coroner.
