The All Whites have reached the final of the OFC Nations Cup with a comprehensive 5-0 win against Tahiti in Vanuatu.
Ben Waine and Kosta Barbarouses both recorded braces for the Kiwi side, scoring either sides of half time.
Waine leads the tournament top scorers list with four goals, tied with former Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna.
New Zealand are the defending champs of the competition and are expected to take home the trophy in the final, this Sunday, where they will face Vanuatu who defeated Fiji 2-1 in the other semifinal.
The All Whites defeated Vanuatu in the pool stages 4-0.
All Whites defender Finn Surman opened the scoring in the 7th minute turning in the rebound after a free kick hit the post.
The All Whites attack punished Tahiti as they led 3-0 inside the first half, with two quick goals just before the half time break.
The Kiwis didn’t stop pushing in the second half as they added two more goals to make it 5-0 and put it beyond doubt.
Captain Liberato Cacace ran riot on the left flank for the All Whites notching up 3 assists, unsurprisingly as the fullback plays in the Italian Serie A for Empoli.
Some of the younger All Whites will be using this tournament as an opportunity to put their hand up for the Olywhites squad to play at the Olympics later this year.
