Person dies after being found in water near Auckland's Bayswater

Inquiries are underway after a person was found non-responsive in the water in Auckland.

Police were notified of a "person non-responsive in the water" at around 12.10pm near Bayswater.

"The death is being treated as unexplained at this time."

A post mortem examination will be conducted, police said, and inquiries are ongoing.

Hato Hone St John also attended the scene.
