Body found in water off Dunedin coast

A body has been found off the Dunedin coast this morning.

Police say they were called to the scene off Taieri Mouth Rd, near Brighton Beach, around 11.40am.

The recovery of the body is underway with assistance from the Coastguard.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are "in their very early stages", police said.
