Emergency services are working at the scene of a fire at a central Hamilton house.
One person was being medically treated, it was understood by police, who were called to the two-storey residence on fire at about 2.10pm.
They were urging people to steer clear of the area.
"There are some cordons in place on Maeroa Rd, and people are asked to avoid the area for now," police said, in a statement.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand told 1News the fire was "well involved" on their arrival at the two-storey residential building.
All persons were accounted for, and FENZ was still working to extinguish the fire.
"We have three fire trucks, a specialist command unit, and a fire investigator at the scene."
