With just 35 days to go to the Olympic Games, Paris: En Route takes a look at the behind-the-scenes scoops, the off-piste plotlines and the stories with a certain… je ne sais quoi.
London’s calling all tourists
It appears London is trying to ride on Paris’ (very fashionable) coat tails this summer.
With the French capital expected to be heavily congested, luxury brands like Harrods are calling on tourists to skip over the channel and visit the UK’s hottest shops.
It’s a tough life for rich tourists, who will struggle to get into the Champs Elysees’ most exclusive boutiques.
So England is suggesting they make the quick dash over to indulge in some retail therapy.
Pooh la la! Parisiens set to protest
Parisians have been vocal about government spending on the Olympics, while some neighbourhoods struggle with poverty.
The River Seine’s also received plenty of attention.
The latest tests are still showing up levels of E.coli, despite significant investment.

With president Emmanuel Macron and Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo vowing to swim in the river, protesters are planning to throw a spanner in the works.
They’re promising to defecate in the Seine in response to the “wasteful spending".
The #JeChieDansLaSeineLe23Juin hashtag - which translates to ‘I s*** in the Seine on June 23’ - has been trending on social media.
That’s one way to soil someone’s plans.
