One dead after single vehicle crash in South Wairarapa

One person has died after a single-vehicle crash in South Wairarapa this morning.

Police were called to the crash on Wards Line at 4.40am.

"The driver, who was the sole occupant of the car, was killed in the crash," police said.

Wards Line would be closed to all traffic while the serious crash unit investigated the scene.

As of yesterday, the Ministry of Transport Te Manatū Waka was provisionally reporting 131 road deaths so far this year.
