Lanes reopen after car rolls on Auckland motorway

A car has rolled and ended up on its roof on Auckland's Southern Motorway this afternoon.

Two southbound lanes on Auckland's Southern Motorway were blocked after a three-vehicle crash where a car ended up on its roof this afternoon. All lanes have since reopened.

Emergency services responded to the crash near Penrose which was reported around 3.30pm.

Police said one person has suffered a minor injury.

"All but one southbound lane has been closed", a spokesperson said at the time.

Fire and Emergency NZ said they responded with three fire trucks at 3.20pm.

An NZTA spokesperson said a crash was blocking the left and middle lanes on State Highway 1 between Ellerslie Panmure Hwy and Mt Wellington Hwy.

"Expect long delays in the area. Delay your journey or use an alternative route if possible."
