Person dies after e-scooter crash in Christchurch

A person has died after falling off an e-scooter which had collided with a pole.

The incident occurred at around 11pm last night at the intersection of Brougham St and Waltham Rd in the Christchurch suburb of Sydenham.

Police said the e-scooter rider died at the scene.

St John Ambulance had sent two ambulances, one rapid response unit and one manager to the scene.

The serious crash unit has been advised.
