One person dead after Ruapehu crash

One person is dead after a one-car crash in Ruapehu this afternoon.

Another occupant of the vehicle has been taken to hospital in serious condition.

The crash happened on State Highway 4, Owhango in Ruapehu District around 3:55pm.

"The road is expected to remain closed for some time while the Serious Crash Unit carries out a scene examination," police said.
