An American man has died, and a woman has been seriously injured after they were electrocuted in a jacuzzi at a resort in Mexico.
The man, identified as Jorge N., was in a hot tub with a woman when the incident occurred at a hotel in Puerto Peñasco, in the Mexican state of Sonora, on Wednesday evening, The Guardian reports.
The woman, Lizeth N., was taken to a hospital in the US after sustaining life-threatening injuries.
It's believed the man died from "a possible electric discharge when both were inside the jacuzzi", the general prosecutor’s office of justice for Sonora said on social media yesterday.
A GoFundMe page set up by Jorge's friends described the man as having "a heart of gold and was always there for family and friends".
The love they shared was one for ages. We are asking for your help to bring him home & help with medical expenses for [Lizette].
