Paris’ most famous monument has had a glow up this week, to mark the countdown to the Games.

The massive Olympic rings display – each measuring nine metres in diameter – is made of recycled French steel and has been installed on the south side of the 135-year-old landmark.

Athletes Village gets steamy.

Things are getting steamy at the Athletes Village.

As summer approaches, temperatures are expected to soar again. But there’ll be no air conditioning for the athletes in their village rooms.

The IOC promised that Paris will be the most sustainable Games yet so instead, a water-based cooling system has been installed using naturally cool water from underground.

It’s estimated the site will have a 30% lower carbon footprint as a result.

Many countries aren’t keen to sweat it out though, so have decided to use portable air-conditioning units in their rooms.

Last month Taylor Swift was selling out Paris’ La Défense Arena.

Now, it’s almost ready for the world’s best swimmers to make a splash.

The venue’s hosted concerts, rugby, basketball, and boxing. But never before an aquatic competition.
