1 Te Kūiti baby death: Police allege 'inconsistencies' in parents' stories

Ten-month-old Mustafa Ali was taken to Te Kūiti Hospital unconscious on Saturday, with what police describe as "violent, blunt-force trauma" and "non-accidental" injuries.

The lead detective in the case alleges "inconsistencies" in statements given to police by the baby boy's parents about injuries sustained.

The father of the 10-month-old denied involvement with his son's death and gave his account, in a media interview published earlier today.

2 Kiwibank facing criminal charges over 'longstanding, systemic' breaches

The Commerce Commission says these are "serious charges, stemming from multiple errors in Kiwibank's manual and electronic systems".

The breaches relate to issues that resulted in more than $7 million being incorrectly charged to over 36,000 customers for fees and interest rates for home loans, credit cards and overdrafts, over a period of several years.

4 Person injured after falling through stairwell in condemned Wellington building

Property manager Jason Dunn says it's understood a man fell through a damaged stairwell in an earthquake-damaged building yesterday evening.

"We sweep the building and the areas that are accessible on a weekly basis. But yeah, this chap got in there and I think he fell last night.

"In the last 90 days we probably ushered and issued trespass notices to probably 18 different people who were staying there at different times."
