Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke is bringing his first-ever solo tour to New Zealand for two shows later this year.

"In the autumn in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Japan I will be alone on stage trying a new kind of solo show thing playing versions of songs from my recent and not so recent past," the English singer said today on social media.

The musician will kick off his tour with a show at Wolfbrook Arena in Christchurch on October 23, followed by a performance at Auckland's Spark Arena on October 25.

It'll be followed by two concerts at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne on October 29 and 30, and two shows at the Sydney Opera House on November 1 and 2.

He will then perform for one night in Singapore, before heading to Japan for eight shows.

Tickets go on sale at 11am NZST on Monday, June 10. Auckland tickets will be available from Ticketmaster and Christchurch Ticketek.

Yorke has recently been touring and releasing music with his latest band The Smile.

Radiohead's last album A Moon Shaped Pool was released in 2016.
