Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper Alex Paulsen is reportedly close to landing a move to a Premier League club.
Paulsen is linked with Bournemouth on a deal understood to be worth close to $1.8 million which could increase to $4.2 million with add-ons and bonuses, as reported by Sky Sports in the UK.
Bournemouth is owned by American businessman Bill Foley who also has ownership of New Zealand’s new A-League side, Auckland FC.
Bournemouth finished 12th in the 2023/24 Premier League season.
It is understood that Premier League clubs Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen to sign the young Kiwi.
The 21-year-old was a key figure in the Phoenix’s second-place finish in the A-League this season, making 29 appearances for the Nix and keeping 12 clean sheets.
Paulsen was also named captain of the PFA A-League team of the season and went on to represent the A-League All Stars against Premier League club Newcastle United.
