  • At 2pm today, Finance Minister Nicola Willis announced this year's budget, which outlines the Government's spending plans for the next year.
  • The plans are consistent with National's promise to deliver tax cuts, with $2.57 billion spent on this.
  • Average-income households will get a tax cut of up to $102 per fortnight from the end of July this year – a tax cut plan in line with what National promised in the election.
  • Education will also see a $1 billion boost.
  • The package will reach 3.5 million New Zealanders – or 83% – according to budget documents.
