Trains on Auckland's Onehunga Line were suspended this morning due to "train crew issues".

Added to the woes, services on the Eastern Line had to be suspended due to an "obstruction".

Auckland Transport (AT) made the Onehunga announcement at about 6.10am this morning.

"ALERT: Onehunga Line is suspended until further notice due to train crew issues," the organisation said on X.

"Go to Journey Planner to find alternative ways to reach your destination.

"Buses will accept train tickets to and from impacted stations."

The Onehunga Line wasn't the only one with issues today.

The Eastern Line was suspended between Waitematā and Otahuhu due to "a track obstruction", AT said at about 10am.

Buses would again be available for people with train tickets.

"UPDATE: The Eastern Line from Waitematā (Britomart) to Manukau will travel via Newmarket," AT said later.

Today's development came after train services finished early on all lines last night, for "urgent track maintenance works".

There were also delays on a number of Half Moon Bay ferry services this morning due to "mechanical issues".
