Football Ferns head coach Jitka Klimková is taking a leave of absence as an employment matter involving her is being investigated.
Klimková will miss the team's upcoming tour of Japan in June while the investigation takes place.
"In Klimková's absence, assistant coach Michael Mayne will act as head coach for the two games on Saturday 1 June NZT (Friday 31 May local) and Tuesday 4 June NZT (Monday 3 June local) at Estadio Nueva Condomina in Murcia, Spain," NZ Football said in a statement this afternoon.
"New Zealand Football, as well as Ford Football Ferns players and staff, will not be making any further comment on the matter until the investigation is concluded."
Klimková took over the role of Football Ferns head coach in 2021.
She was at the helm during last year's FIFA Women's World Cup in New Zealand where the team had a famous win over Norway and narrowly missed out on qualifying from the group stage.
