Inaugural Moana Pasifika Captain and 110-test Australian international Sekope Kepu has announced he will retire from professional rugby at the end of the Super Rugby Pacific season.
Kepu played in three Rugby World Cups for the Wallabies and has represented Moana Pasifika for the past three seasons.
The prop played for the Waratahs from 2008-2019 but also played overseas in stints at Bordeaux in France and for London Irish.
Kepu said it was the right time for him to hang up his boots.
"Everybody that retires says you know when it’s time. All I dreamt of was to play rugby professionally and I’ve been very blessed to do that. While I will miss it, I’m looking forward to being there for my kids,” said Kepu.
Kepu wanted to thank all the fans for their support and is set to sign off his career next weekend against the Crusaders as Moana have a slim chance of making the Super Rugby Pacific playoffs.
