A business on Auckland's North Shore is reeling after an early morning ram-raid saw four offenders smash a car through its doors before stealing alcohol and cash.

The Haven Bar & Eatery owner Dhruvit Dave told 1News the estimated cost of damage to the building and stolen stock would be around $15,000.

Police said officers responded to reports of a burglary on Beach Haven Road this morning around 3.15am, where a vehicle was used to gain entry into a commercial premises.

"An investigation is now underway to determine what has occurred, including who was involved and what was taken," a spokesperson said.

The bar's security camera captured the ram-raid as it happened.

"Around 2.45am somebody came in with the car into our main door, and four people came inside and took all the alcohol and then took our POS (point of sale) system, cash and everything," the bar's owner Dave explained.

He said the entire burglary lasted "about 4 to 5 minutes" and his staff were now left to clean up the mess.

"Today we are closed for cleaning and everything, so we lose our money and our confidence as well."

Dave said he had only taken over the business five months ago, and had just forked out thousands to upgrade everything.

"We are just doing hard work over here at the moment. And my staff also, they're working hard and we're just trying to increase our sales and [we're] getting good community support as well."

He said his staff are worried about the amount of crime in the neighbourhood.

"Maybe like one or two weeks ago it happened across the road, there was a ram-raid at the Turkish Kebab shop."

Dave thanked the community for their "support and understanding" as they remain closed today to clean up.

Police said inquiries remain ongoing and anyone with footage or information that could help their investigation is urged to contact police on 105.
