Black Ferns name side to take on third ranked Canada

The Black Ferns celebrate a try in their 57-5 win over the USA last weekend in Hamilton.

The Black Ferns have announced their team to take on Canada this Sunday in Christchurch.

The Black Ferns face Canada in their second match of the Pacific Four Series after they comfortably beat USA 57-5 last week in Hamilton.

Mererangi Paul scored a hat-trick in the match against the US and is named again to start at fullback. She has scored 10 tries in six tests for the Black Ferns.

The Ferns will be led by co-captains Kennedy Simon and Ruahei Demant.

Canada are ranked third in the world, but the Ferns came away 52-21 victors last year in Ottawa.

This series is a warm up for the Ferns as they take on Australia next weekend in the first of a two match series for the O'Reilly Cup.

Black Ferns squad to play Canada at Apollo Projects Stadium this Sunday, kick off 4:35pm is:

Chryss Viliko, Georgia Ponsonby, Tanya Kalounivale, Maia Roos, Maama Mo'onia Vaipulu, Layla Sae, Kennedy Simon, Liana Mikaele-Tu'u, Maia Joseph, Ruahei Demant, Katelyn Vahaakolo, Sylvia Brunt, Amy du Plessis, Ruby Tui, Mererangi Paul.

Replacements: Luka Connor, Amy Rule, Aldora Itunu, Charmaine Smith, Kaipo Olsen-Baker, Iritana Hohaia, Hannah King, Patricia Maliepo.
