Take a look at the Fair Go stories that warmed the heart and made us laugh

The longest hug ever for a life-changing payout, a widow spared hardship, a soldier's war medals returned, and much more - the wealth of stories made choosing Fair Go highlights a tricky task.

A final tribute to the efforts and results would of course, not be complete without the humour - dress-ups, random animals and colourful characters show us what an amazing bunch Kiwis really are.

As Fair Go presenter of 12 years Pippa Wetzell said in the finale: "This show is all about you and while we are gutted to say goodbye to Fair Go in its current form - it's not over - we will still be here for you online."

Still on screens

The programme turned 47 last month and is still one of the most-watched programmes on New Zealand television.

Two days after that anniversary, TVNZ confirmed plans to cancel the programme.

TVNZ also confirmed plans for a new unit making in-depth articles and investigations for TVNZ+ and 1news.co.nz which will see new Fair Go stories told there and featuring on other news programmes.

You can still 'go to Fair Go'

The Fair Go inbox will remain open and the soon-to-be announced team will be reading the hundreds of emails people are still sending, asking for help and sharing their stories.

So, if you've been ripped off, shortchanged or given the run around, and nobody wants to know - we do!

Email fairgo@tvnz.co.nz or write to us - yes we still read letters as well - Fair Go, PO Box 3819, Auckland 1140.

Thanks for watching!
