A US family is distraught after a navigation mix-up saw their pet pigs slaughtered by a mobile butcher.
Betty and Patty were both two years old when they were shot dead earlier this month in their pen at a home in Washington state.
The BBC reports the family was away.
Owner Nathan Gray told the British broadcaster: "They were my wife's pets and my kids' and they, you know, they're family."
The incident reportedly occurred when a mobile butcher arrived at the wrong home.
Nathan and his wife Natalie said they had a CCTV alert and rushed to the property – only to find the butcher at work.
Nathan said the pigs were lying dead in pools of blood.
"They asked me what I wanted to do with the with the pigs – whether I wanted them to be processed."
When confronted, the butcher said his GPS must have "screwed up".
Natalie said the children were traumatised, adding: "[The pigs] were my babies.
"And when you have kids and they don't feel safe – when they feel violated, I feel mad that they don't feel safe."
The case has been passed to the prosecutor's office, police said.
