One person has died following a three-vehicle crash in Taranaki on Saturday morning.
Police were alerted to the crash on State Highway 3 near Urenui at around 10.50am.
A spokesperson said four people were taken to Taranaki Base Hospital.
"Sadly, one of them has died in hospital."
On Sunday night, police named the dead person as Eifion Wyn Williams, 65, of Urenui.

Three others were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed while emergency services attended and the Serious Crash Unit completed a scene examination. It has since reopened.
"Inquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash," police said.
