Mystics shooter Grace Nweke will have to sit on the sidelines for a lengthy period of the ANZ Premiership season after it was confirmed today that she has strained her knee.
“Grace is continuing to follow a graduated return to play programme with the view to being back out on court within four to six weeks,” the Northern Mystics said in a statement.
The Silver Fern strained the patella tendon in her right knee, which is a similar injury to the one she picked up during last year's Netball World Cup, forcing her to miss the latter stages of the tournament.
Nweke sustained the injury during the Mystics 62-59 loss in round three to the Tactix and has been unavailable since the injury occurred.
The Mystics will have to rely on 23-year-old shooter Hannah Glen who shot at 89% last weekend as the Mystics fell to a 52-47 loss against the Pulse.
