The Black Ferns have locked in a clash against world number one England at Twickenham with the potential to host the largest crowd for a women’s rugby Test.
The 82,000 seater stadium in London will host the two sides in September of this year and will see the two best ranked sides in the world continue their rivalry.
The Black Ferns have struggled in recent years against the Red Roses, losing three out of their previous four encounters, their one win coming in the 2021 Rugby World Cup final.
The two teams have played three Tests at Twickenham with the home side taking out each of the matches in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
Black Ferns Director of Rugby, Allan Bunting said he is looking forward to seeing a massive crowd at Twickenham.
“To see the fans filling the stands during the Women’s Six Nations has been outstanding and we are hoping to see the same when we take on the Red Roses,” said Bunting.
New Zealand Rugby CEO Mark Robinson said the Test was set up between the two leading international teams in preparation for next year's Rugby World Cup.
“We have worked closely with England Rugby Football Union (RFU) to get this Test locked into the calendar as we believe it forms an important part of the team’s build up to Rugby World Cup 2025,” said Robinson.
In the meantime, the Black Ferns are preparing to play in the Pacific Four Series as they host their USA in Hamilton on May 11.
