A beloved pet cat in the US has been reunited with her owners after a mail mistake left her more than 1500km away from home.
Galeana went missing from her home in Utah earlier this month. Owner Carrie Clark feared a cat-astrophe had occurred.
But nearly a week later, she got a call from a vet in California, the BBC reports.
The Clark family pet had jumped into an Amazon package that was being returned to California and it had been sent with her inside.
"Galeana loves boxes, it's just part of her personality," Clark told KSL TV.
Galeana was reportedly found by an Amazon worker in good health, even though she'd had no food or water for days. The worker took her to the vet where her microchip was scanned and the reunion was organised.
Clark said she thought it was a prank.
"I didn't believe her [the vet] at first," she said, adding it was the "most amazing, insane news in the entire world".
One of the box's seams had apparently broken, allowing a small amount of air to get inside.
Favourable temperatures meant Galeana was lucky to escape freezing or overheating on her journey.
After the vet's call, Clark and her husband opted for a plane instead of a box and headed to California.
"It was an amazing reunion! Galena instantly stopped shaking and relaxed in my arms when I got to hold her again," she said, encouraging everyone to "triple check" their online shopping returns before mailing them.
