According to CBC, wooden railway ties inside five train cars caught fire on the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway train as it travelled towards London, Ontario.
It came to a halt in a residential area.
London Fire platoon chief Colin Shewell told CBC train cars carrying dangerous goods and hazardous materials were split and moved away.
It was unclear how the fire started.

"The incident remains under investigation. We thank the London first responders for their effective response to the fire last night," CPKCR spokesperson Terry Cunha wrote to CBC in an email.
