Kiwi woman Shelley Cullen has been convicted of five charges for her role in promoting global cryptocurrency-based pyramid scheme 'Lion's Share' in New Zealand.

The Commerce Commission said Cullen's prosecution highlights a "brazen disregard for potentially vulnerable customers" given her particular targeting of Māori and Pasifika communities in 2020 and 2021.

"When these schemes collapse, the impacts on most of those involved and their families can be devastating."
