The sixth person killed in Joel Cauchi's knife rampage at a Sydney mall over the weekend has been identified by Australian media today.
She has been named as Yixuan Cheng, who 9News reports was a Chinese national studying in Australia.
The confirmed fatalities from the attack have now all been named.
As well as Cheng, they are 38-year-old osteopath Ashlee Good, whose nine-month-old daughter was also injured; Dawn Singleton, the 25-year-old daughter of multi-millionaire businessman John Singleton; 47-year-old architect Jade Young; 30-year-old security guard Faraz Tahir; and 55-year-old artist and designer Pikria Darchia.
As well as the six people killed, Queensland man Cauchi, 40, injured at least a dozen others.
Good's daughter underwent surgery and police said yesterday that she was in a stable condition.
Cauchi was eventually shot dead by Inspector Amy Scott, bringing an end to the horror and bringing the total death toll to seven.
Police have said there is currently no evidence of a clear ideology or motive behind the attack and officials have pointed to Cauchi's history of mental health troubles.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is "not aware of any New Zealanders involved", a spokesperson said yesterday.
