Pair found in critical condition in car now 'stable' - police

Two people found in critical condition in a car yesterday are now in a "stable condition", police say.

The pair were rushed to Auckland City Hospital yesterday morning after being found in a vehicle on Garnet Rd in Westmere.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at about 9am. Police called it a "medical related incident".

"Two people located in a vehicle have been transported to hospital in critical condition," a police spokesperson said yesterday.

"Police are making some general enquiries into the matter."

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle attended the scene.

Police said this morning that enquiries remain ongoing.
