One dead after single-vehicle crash in central Auckland

One person has died following a crash in central Auckland last night.

The single-vehicle crash on SH16 near Stanley St was reported to police at around 8.45pm on Sunday.

"Sadly, one person received critical injuries and died at the scene," a spokesperson said.

"Police extend our condolences to their friends and whānau at this time."

The serious crash unit attended the scene and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are underway.
