The north and southbound lanes of the Waikato Expressway are now open after a truck burst into flames just before the Taupiri exit.
Police said no one was reported to be injured or inside the truck.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) said it received "multiple" calls to the fire at around 4.50pm today.

Three fire trucks worked to extinguish the blaze, which FENZ said was not a risk to nearby structures.
A woman at the scene told 1News the driver was an older gentleman who "lost his livelihood," after his truck "blew up on the motorway" travelling southbound.
