Police name person who died in three-vehicle Otago gorge crash

Police have named the person who died in a three-vehicle crash in Otago last Wednesday.

Kelan Michael Ray Stroud, 17, was found dead at the scene following what police suspected to be a crash involving two trucks and a car.

Emergency services responded to the crash on Cromwell-Clyde Highway in Cromwell Gorge at about 6.35am.

"Police extend our condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time."

One of the truck drivers sustained a minor injury and was assessed at the scene, police said at the time. One of the trucks was found on its side.

Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
