Parker Jackson-Cartwright sparks another attack for the Breakers at Qudos Bank Arena.

All NBL first-team star Parker Jackson-Cartwright is returning to the Breakers next season.

The point guard, known for his strategic prowess and court vision, has signed a new one-year deal with the club.

Since the Breakers' inception in 2003, they have only signed imports on one-year contracts.

However, Jackson-Cartwright joins an exclusive club joining Mike Chappell, Rick Rickert, 2x NBL Champion Gary Wilkinson and 3x NBL champion Cedric Jackson as fan favourites to come back.

Jackson-Cartwright said he took "great pride" in wearing the Breakers number six jersey last season.

"This club has won multiple championships and when you bring a guy back like myself and you build a team, you think 'championship'. That's why you sign. You sign to be part of something bigger than yourself."

The Los Angeles-born player said he loved living in Auckland and felt he "grew as a player and a person" in the city.

"Everyone in the community is a Breakers fan faithful. I felt very comfortable being myself."

Breakers head coach Mody Maor was thrilled with the news.

"Two weeks ago, when I was asked about the chances of Parker returning, I answered 'less than one per cent,'" said Maor.

"From a basketball standpoint, this is as close to a home run as it gets. Our ownership group felt the connection between Parker and the community and went above and beyond to bring him back for our fans."

The shortest import ever signed by the Breakers at 5'9", Jackson-Cartwright proved a star turn.

He averaged 20.6 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.9 steals over 30 games.

With a major piece of the jigsaw back in place, the Breakers now have a major hook for next season.
